[ taair's hands are white-knuckled in the back of adolphe's clothes, and it takes a long, long moment for them to actually relax - despite his more composed voice, the slow realization of his situation, there's a tremor in his hands. something about that specifically was horrifying, and it has so, so little to do with the death itself. ]

[ he holds on almost instinctively, slowly trying to get his bearings - looking up at adolphe, his friend living and breathing, and then everything else hits like a freight train. the execution. neverah, across from him, her fury with the knife, the way he couldn't bring himself to fight his instincts, and he takes a deep breath in, and out. ]
... I died, again. [ he says, soft, brows knitting together, mouth coming together in a small line. ] I'm... alright, I think. It's... death truly does not stick here, does it?
[ there's a beat, and then, he remembers his manners. ] -- Oh, I... Thank you, my dear friend... um, thank you. [ for carrying him and coaxing him out of the cage alike. ]
